TurquoiseThis was my first and favorite shot of the #scavengerhunt . It started as a study on textures, as I took a "tile" of salmon scales, changed the color and started tiling the face at different opacities so to reproduce the face depth and shadows.This was back in June, when I had no idea things like "multiply", "overlay," and displace filters existed!!My heartfelt thanks to the awesome judges of the 2013 SUMMER SCAVENGER HUNT: +Jacob Lucas and +Alan Shapiro for the THIRD PLACE, to +Derek Kind for the SECOND PLACE, and to +Barry Blanchard and +dene' miles for the FIRST PLACE! So, there's this lady on G+, she's more of a G+ heroine, really. I'm sure you've heard of her, her name is +Chrysta Rae ? Hehe, I was being sarcastic there, what I meant to say is: who hasn't heard of +Chrysta Rae ??? :-)So, anyways, Chrysta is the creator of this thing, the Scavenger Hunt, and if you don't know what the Scavenger Hunt is, I'm sure you've heard of it, and you may have even looked into it and thought, "What a bunch of nuts!"I know because I once did that. :-)Well, XXX months later, I'm proud to say, I'm one of those nuts. <insert grin here>The fifth album of the SUMMER 2013 SCAVENGER HUNT was simply amazing, so much creativity flowing, if you haven't already, go check it out, it will knock your socks off:https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/+ChrystaRae/albums/5922763128151506897This was my entry for Watermelon.
